Dr. Marty Makary – a Johns Hopkins School of Medicine & Bloomberg School of Public Health Professor, Editor-in-Chief of Medpage, and author of the NYTimes bestseller The Price We Pay – recently wrote an opinion piece for The Wall Street Journal in which he stated his concerns that the push to vaccinate children is not actually following “the science.” Makary argues in his OpEd piece that the huge push to vaccinate all children is based on data that 335 children died from Covid, however Makary points out that the CDC has still not verified whether those 335 deaths are cases involving children who died from Covid, or with Covid. He notes that CDC has not even verified the number of reported deaths.
Without these data, the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices decided in May that the benefits of two-dose vaccination outweigh the risks for all kids 12 to 15. I’ve written hundreds of peer-reviewed medical studies, and I can think of no journal editor who would accept the claim that 335 deaths resulted from a virus without data to indicate if the virus was incidental or causal, and without an analysis of relevant risk factors such as obesity.
Makary states that the data his research team evaluated concerning 48,000 health insurance claims of children under 18 contracting Covid “found a mortality rate of zero among children without a pre-existing medical condition such as leukemia.
