Earlier this afternoon, Brooklyn Center Police Chief stated that the officer (who will remain unnamed for now) meant to pull her taser, not her gun, as two other officers struggled to arrest Daunte Wright for an outstanding warrant Sunday afternoon. Wright was shot by a police officer following a traffic stop which turned up an outstanding warrant. There are numerous reports about Wright’s arrest records – with two being much older arrests. There is one report that the current warrant was for illegal possession of a firearm.
Brooklyn Center Police released footage of the shooting incident.

@JackPosobiec posted a copy of Wright’s outstanding arrest warrant on Twitter. Wright was accused of possessing and brandishing a loaded Ruger .45 and fleeing the scene after police received a call to investigate. Wright missed the Zoom hearing session last week and a warrant was issued.
