NPR (National Public Radio/NPR.com) yesterday issued a correction to an article that had said that U.S. intelligence had “discredited” the Hunter Biden laptop story. The correction now has language stating that “U.S. intelligence officials have not made a statement to that effect.”
The article, Hunter Biden’s Memoir ‘Beautiful Things’ Seeks To Tell Just Where He’s Been was first published on March 31, 2021, with language stating that U.S. intelligence officials had “discredited” reporting that had circulated before and after the November 2020 elections that Hunter’s laptop had been obtained and contained information that raised questions about the Biden family’s business dealing as well as other personal family issues.
The paragraph below is excerpted from the corrected article and apparently where the previous reference to intelligence officials discrediting the laptop story appeared. It now reads:
The last gasp of Giuliani’s campaign against the Biden featured a laptop supposedly obtained from sources that would document the younger Biden’s drug use and other offenses. Numerous news organizations cast doubt on the credibility of the laptop story.
